Brewer’s OEM Division Solves Design Problems

Medical professionals along with medical equipment suppliers share a common goal today: getting all the help they can to prevent “Never Events.” Never events or hospital acquired conditions (HACs) are adverse events that are serious and usually preventable. Brewer’s OEM Division works with their customers to assist in prevention through product design, particularly infection control and pressure redistribution.

In order to address certain “never events”, Brewer’s OEM Division offers a wide range of manufacturing capabilities and technologies that can assist customers in the product design and clinical use. Some of the capabilities Brewer OEM specializes in are:

  • RF and Ultrasonic Welding
  • CNC Cutting
  • Printing
  • Cut and Sew
  • Assembly
  • Die Cutting
  • Vacuum Forming

Brewer’s welding technology includes:

  • Radio Frequency (RF) welding is a process of bonding together materials through the use of electromagnetic energy. The weld is completed by applying pressure, ensuring a successful bond and seal.
  • Ultrasonic welding uses high energy acoustic vibrations to produce a weld between two sheets of material. These vibrations create heat sufficient enough to bond the materials together.

These welding techniques can create a “seamless” design and reduce fluid egress or penetration through the seams of medical products including procedure table pads or patient positioning products. By utilizing a welded seam to replace traditional needle and thread stitching, cleaning and disinfection is more effective in reducing the potential for cross contamination.

Brewer OEM products are all proudly made in the USA. Brewer delivers the innovation that helps differentiate our customers within their respective marketplaces along with aiding in the prevention of “Never Events” and HACs.
